The Colosseum is a magnificent piece of Roman architecture. Complete in 80 AD, the structure once held 50,000 onlookers. It was used as an amphitheater for public spectacles. Sitting in the heart of Rome, the Colosseum is an amazing site. I was lucky enough to visit it last month and attempted to capture its awe. It now stands slightly damaged from obvious erosion and stone-robbers. Nevertheless, it was definitely something checked off the bucket list.
