The Incredible Photography of Carl Warner

Carl Warner is a prominent artist and photographer from Liverpool, England. He is best known for his creative use of food in landscapes. Yet this delicious works of art are not the only pieces of his worth recognizing. Warner works with several agencies around the world to produce some of the most inventive advertisements to date. Using clothes, office supplies and even screws, Warner develops photographs that bewitch the mind. Often misleading at first glance, his work requires a sharp eye to appreciate every detail.

“The ‘Foodscapes’ are created in Carl’s London studio where they are built on top of a large purpose built triangular table top. The scenes are photographed in layers from foreground to background and sky as the process is very time consuming and so the food quickly wilts under the lights. Each element is then put together in post production to achieve the final image.”

All images are property of Carl Warner

For any ad to work effectively it must first grab your attention and cause you to think. It is made even more difficult with the use of only sight. Great art has always grabbed our attention and this is no different. At the end of the day we should see Carl as what he really is, an amazing artist who happens to use the medium of advertising.

Be amazed, be inspired
