Typography Tuesday

In advertising, typography can act as a deal maker or breaker, either aiding or ailing its accompanying image or copy. In other outlets, however, truly impressive typography often renders those counterparts ignorable or completely unnecessary.

In these following examples, the type is the focus. Acting as an art form in itself, the typography in these pieces is effectively captivating while independent of complicated messages or imagery.

Just saw the printing exhibit at the Deutsches Museum in Munich. Pretty amazing to see WHY the world’s most famous typos came to be — you know, other than just to be gaudy. I’ll never look at Helvetica the same way again.

Sounds like an awesome exhibit! Too bad I won’t be in Munich any time soon 😦
